Progression Action: Update Field (PREMIUM)

Customize your progressions to automatically prompt your users to update important fields on various objects in Accelo. Prompt a Sales Rep to get the value of a prospective sale, or update the expiration date of retainers when they’re activated by adding the Update Field action to your status change. 

Using this guide, you can:

 

Update Field Action

The update field action allows you to choose a field from a related object to display to the user during a progression. Ideally the user will see that field and realize that they need to enter/update some details.

The fields available include standard fields from the object (such as the due date for a ticket), profile fields for that object and custom fields for that object type.

 

Create an Update Field Action

To create an Update Field action:

  1. Find the progression you want to add an action to, and then click the + button on the right-hand side and select Update Field.

  2. The Create Progression Action Field screen will appear.

  3. Select the related object which the field will appear under, including Contacts under Companies, Tasks under Projects, the Project itself, etc.
  4. Select the Field to be updated from the drop-down list. You will find standard fields, as well as any custom or custom profile fields you have configured.

  5. Optionally enter an Alternative Title to describe the purpose of this field to the user. This can be as simple as "Assign Manager" or “Who’s in Charge until Completion?”; whatever makes the most sense to your flow.

  6. Optionally select a Default Value for this field to be displayed to the user.

  7. Required - this indicates whether the user must enter the field or whether they can leave it blank.

  8. Hidden - this indicates whether the user will be able to see and update the field, or whether the update will occur in the background.

  9. Click Save to save this action to the progression.
